We were in LA for a good friend's wedding. While at the wedding I asked Matt about when ours would be (I am a girl!) and he was unusually evasive. At one point he asked if I wanted to go ring shopping again! As my frustration built up, I realized that the discussion was probably not time and place appropriate so we enjoyed the rest of the party.
The next morning, things were just a bit off- Matt is normally a pretty easy going guy but he was very particular about how everything happened. All I could think about was getting to my favorite ride at Disneyland: Indiana Jones. Once at Disneyland, we got to the entrance ...and waited. It seemed that the woman in charge of our line had no idea how to work the ticket machine. I watched as people streamed past - knowing they were headed right to Indiana Jones.
We got through the line and met our friends inside the park- as we walked down Main Street Matt said he wanted to take a picture. This threw me for a loop, but it seemed clearly important to him so we went and stood in line. After waiting for the other families to take pictures (and watching tons of people head right for Indiana Jones) it was our turn. I went up to the statue and when I turned around Matt was one his knee with the ring box.
I have no idea what he said, or what I said back. At some point I fell onto the bench behind me and we laughed and cried for a few minutes. Later that day we were on the Thunder Mountain Railroad and as we exited the ride we were winners in the Million Dream Giveaway. We received lanyards and Disney pins that said “Disneyland, where all my dreams came true” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
